Terms of use

By using crawls.in, its pages or its API, you accept these terms. They are short because the service is simple: you search, we show you screenshots of public websites and public facts about domain names.

The service

crawls.in is a search engine over screenshots of publicly accessible websites and over domain-name facts drawn from public sources (registry zone files, DNS, certificate logs). It is provided free, without an account, as it is and as available. We may change, pause or withdraw any part of it at any time.

Fair use of the search and the API

• The web page and the JSON API (/api/visual-search) are for people and programs that search. Per visitor we allow bursts of typing and about 2,000 searches a day; above that the service answers 429 and says so.
• Do not copy the index, the screenshots or the results in bulk, resell them, or build a competing index from them without our written agreement. Bulk or commercial access is a conversation: [email protected].
• Do not use the service to find targets for abuse, to harvest personal data, or in any way that breaks the law where you are.

Other people's websites

Every screenshot shows a website that someone else operates, captured as a visitor would see it. The content, names and marks in it belong to their owners; showing a screenshot is not an endorsement, an affiliation or a claim about that site. Facts about a domain (which extensions a name is registered in, when a page was captured, which platform it uses) are observations, and observations can be out of date.

Removing a site

If you operate a website shown here and want its screenshot removed, or you believe a capture infringes a right, write to [email protected] with the domain name and, for infringement claims, who you are and what right is infringed. We remove the capture and stop re-capturing the site within a reasonable time, normally a few days, and tell you when it is done.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided without warranties of any kind: not that it is accurate, complete, current, available or fit for a purpose. To the extent the law allows, Harmony Infotech is not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, crawls.in or the API, including decisions taken on what it shows.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and material changes are noted in the changelog. These terms are governed by the laws of India; disputes go to the courts of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
